Brāhmaṇa-pūjā, Haviḥ-dāna, and the Vāsudeva–Pṛthivī Saṃvāda
Chapter 34

Calamities are overcome through a dharmic life: reverence to the divine, reliance on Vedic guidance, faith, and self-control; and, in social-ethical practice, disciplined vows combined with honoring learned brāhmaṇas and giving charity.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s discourse on dāna-dharma, Nārada instructs that both inner discipline (faith and control of the senses) and outward righteous conduct (respectful salutation and charitable giving to worthy brāhmaṇas) enable one to pass beyond severe dangers.
