यह तीर्थ-सेवनका कार्य परम पवित्र, पुण्यप्रद, स्वर्गकी प्राप्तिका सर्वोत्तम साधन और वेदोंका गुप्त रहस्य है। प्रत्येक तीर्थ पावन और स्नानके योग्य होता है ।।

idaṃ dadyād dvijātīnāṃ sādhōr ātma-hitasya ca | suhṛdāṃ ca japet karṇe śiṣyasyānugatasya ca ||

ティールタを奉じて巡礼する行は、至上に清浄であり、功徳を生み、天界に至る最良の手段とされ、またヴェーダの秘められた奥義でもある。いずれのティールタも聖にして、儀礼の沐浴にふさわしい。されどこのティールタの大いなる功徳は、二度生まれの者(dvija)、己が真の利益を求める徳ある人、信頼すべき友、そして戒律に従う献身の弟子にのみ、耳元で密かに囁いて授けるべきである――守られるべきヴェーダの秘蔵として。
