अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence
जो ब्राह्मण ऊपर बताये हुए गुणोंसे युक्त होते हैं, उन्हें दिया हुआ दान महान् फल देनेवाला है। गुणवान् एवं सुयोग्य पात्रको दान देनेवाला दाता सहसख्रगुना फल पाता है ।।
prajñāśrutābhyāṁ vṛttena śīlena ca samanvitaḥ | tārayet kulaṁ sarvam eko 'pīha dvijarṣabhaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「先に説いた徳を備えたブラーフマナに施された布施は、大いなる果報を生む。徳あり、ふさわしい受器に施す施主は、千倍の果を得る。さらに、明晰な智慧と聖典（シャーストラ）の学識、正しい行いと善き品性を具えた卓越したブラーフマナが、ここでただ一度布施を受け取るだけでも、施主の一族全体を救い、興隆させ得るのである。」

Charity bears the highest merit when given with discernment to a truly virtuous and learned Brahmin; the recipient’s qualities amplify the spiritual fruit, even to the extent of benefiting the donor’s whole lineage.
