स मां त्वमनुजानीहि कृष्ण मोक्ष्ये कलेवरम् | त्वयाहं समनुज्ञातो गच्छेयं परमां गतिम्,श्रीकृष्ण! अब आप आज्ञा दीजिये, मैं इस शरीरका परित्याग करूँगा। आपकी आज्ञा मिलनेपर मुझे परम गतिकी प्राप्ति होगी
sa māṃ tvam anujānīhi kṛṣṇa mokṣye kalevaram | tvayāhaṃ samanujñāto gaccheyaṃ paramāṃ gatim ||
ビーシュマは言った。「おおクリシュナよ、どうかお許しを。いま私はこの身を捨てよう。あなたの完全な許しを得て、私は至高の境地へと旅立つ。」
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical and devotional ideal that even a great warrior-sage like Bhishma seeks rightful sanction before a decisive act—here, the final renunciation of the body. Krishna’s approval symbolizes alignment with dharma and the assurance of the highest spiritual goal.
Bhishma, lying on his bed of arrows and nearing his chosen time of departure, addresses Krishna directly. He requests Krishna’s permission to relinquish his body, expressing that with Krishna’s consent he will attain the supreme destination.
