संधानस्य पर: कालस्तवेति च पुन: पुनः । न च मे तद् वचो मूढ: कृतवान् स सुमन्दधी: । घातयित्वेह पृथिवीं ततः स निधनं गत:
sandhānasya paraḥ kālas taveti ca punaḥ punaḥ | na ca me tad vaco mūḍhaḥ kṛtavān sa sumandadhīḥ | ghātayitveha pṛthivīṃ tataḥ sa nidhanaṃ gataḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「私は幾度も彼に告げた。『汝にとって和睦の最良の時が今こそ来た』と。だが、迷妄に沈み、きわめて浅薄な理解しか持たぬその男は、私の言葉に従わなかった。この地上に大虐殺を招いたのち、ついには自らの滅びへと赴いたのだ。」
