kalyam utthāya yo nityaṃ sandhye dve astaṃ-udaye | paṭhec chucir anāvṛttaḥ sa dharma-phala-bhāg bhavet ||
Daily discipline at the two sandhyās—sunrise and sunset—combined with purity and reverent recitation of dharmic exemplars makes one a participant in the merit (dharma-phala) generated by righteous remembrance and alignment with moral order.
Bhīṣma, instructing on dharma in the Anuśāsana Parva, concludes a long enumeration of renowned kings and states the benefit: one who rises early, remains pure, and recites these names at morning and evening sandhyā gains a share in the fruits of dharma.
