Educational Q&A

The verse praises the Lord through ethical and spiritual epithets: He is both the path to the highest good and the one who has attained it; He embodies noble conduct, grants order and splendor in worldly life (even in armies and governance), is Yoga as inner restraint, governs cosmic time as the initiator of yugas, and compassionately removes devotees’ suffering.

In Anuśāsana Parva’s devotional-didactic setting, Vāyudeva speaks a sequence of divine names/attributes, extolling Hari (Viṣṇu/Kṛṣṇa) by describing His roles in liberation, moral excellence, worldly order, yogic discipline, and cosmic governance.
