bhavantu satkṛtānīha pūrvam eva pracoditaḥ | tato ’haṃ jvalamānaṃ vai pāyasaṃ pratyavedayam ||
The verse highlights dharma in the form of satkāra—forethoughtful, respectful hospitality. One should anticipate the needs of a guest, especially a sage, and offer food and service with honor rather than mere formality.
Vāyu explains that he already knew what the household intended and therefore had them prepare provisions in advance. When the sage arrived, Vāyu served him freshly prepared, steaming pāyasa as part of the respectful reception.
