भूतावासो वासुदेव: सर्वासुनिलयोडनल: । दर्पहा दर्पदो दृप्तो दुर्धरोडथापराजित:
bhūtāvāso vāsudevaḥ sarvāsunilayo 'nalaḥ | darpahā darpado dṛpto durdharo 'thāparājitaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「彼は一切の生きとし生けるものの住処である。彼こそヴァースデーヴァ、世界に遍満し、これを包み覆う神なる主。万有の生命が依りかかる支えであり、また『アナラ』—量り知れぬ力を具える者である。不義の道を歩む者の驕り高ぶりを打ち砕き、帰依する者には清らかな勇気と高揚を授ける。常に永遠の歓喜に満ち、心に捉えて留めることは難しいが、しかも誰にも征服されぬ不敗の者である。」
