विस्तार: स्थावरस्थाणु: प्रमाणं बीजमव्ययम् । अर्थोडनर्थो महाकोशो महाभोगो महाधन:
vistāraḥ sthāvarasthāṇuḥ pramāṇaṃ bījam avyayam | artho 'nartho mahākośo mahābhogo mahādhanaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「彼は一切に遍満する広がり—不動にして堅固なるものすべての安住の支えである。彼こそ知の規準（プラマーナ）であり、世界の不滅の種子因である。彼は至福そのものとして求められる『義（アルタ）』であり、しかも円満自足ゆえに『無用（アナルト）』でもある。彼は大いなる宝蔵の主、最高の真実の歓喜を享受する者、そして至上の富そのものである。」

The verse teaches that the ultimate foundation of the world and of all values—knowledge, prosperity, and enjoyment—is the self-sufficient divine reality. Therefore, ethical life should seek lasting good by orienting desire and action toward that imperishable source rather than toward temporary wealth and pleasures.
