आवर्तनो निवृत्तात्मा संवृत: सम्प्रमर्दन: । अहःसंवर्तको वल्लिरनिलो धरणीधर:

Transliteration

āvartano nivṛttātmā saṁvṛtaḥ sampramardanaḥ | ahaḥsaṁvartako vahnir anilo dharaṇīdharaḥ ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「彼は輪廻の輪を回転させる者でありながら、その自己は常に束縛を離れている。自らのヨーガ・マーヤーにより覆われつつも、猛き諸相をもって万有を圧し砕き従わせる力ともなる。太陽として正しく昼を起こし、火として供物を運び、風として生命の息となって動き、また大地を支える者として—ヴァラーハやシェーシャのごとく—世界を担う。かくして主は、一なる実在が多様な宇宙の働きとして現れるものとして讃えられる。」
