Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)
स्त्रीधर्म: पूर्व एवायं विवाहे बन्धुभि: कृत: । सहधर्मचरी भर्तुर्भवत्यग्निसमीपत:
strī-dharmaḥ pūrva evāyaṃ vivāhe bandhubhiḥ kṛtaḥ | saha-dharma-carī bhartur bhavaty agni-samīpataḥ ||
マヘーシュヴァラは言った。「妻のこの務めは、婚礼の時に、彼女の親族によってすでに前もって定められている。なぜなら聖なる火の傍らでこそ、彼女は夫の法の伴侶（サハ・ダルマチャーリニー）となり、夫の正しき生の道を共に歩むべく結ばれるからである。」
