कल्मषापहर-कीर्तनम् / Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity

देवि! ये दानशील प्राणी ही ऐसे महान्‌ सौभाग्यसे सम्पन्न होते हैं। पूर्वकालमें ब्रह्माजीने इनका ऐसा ही परिचय दिया है। दाता मनुष्य सभीकी दृष्टि में प्रिय होते हैं ।।

devi! ye dānaśīlāḥ prāṇinaḥ hi etādṛśaiḥ mahān saubhāgyena sampannā bhavanti | pūrvakāle brahmājñā etānām etādṛśaḥ eva paricayaḥ pradattaḥ | dātā manuṣyāḥ sarveṣāṁ dṛṣṭau priyā bhavanti || apare mānavā devi pradāna-kṛpaṇā dvijaiḥ yācitā na prayacchanti vidyamāne 'pi abuddhayaḥ ||

マヘーシュヴァラは言った。「おお女神よ、施しを旨とする生きものこそ、このような大いなる幸運に満たされる。いにしえに梵天もまた、彼らをまさにこのように説いた。施与する者は万人の目に愛される。だが、おお女神よ、ほかの多くの人々は施しに吝く、財を持ちながらも、バラモンに乞われてなお与えぬ——浅き知恵ゆえである。」
