Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets
nityaṃ sa hi śubhācāro devatādvijapūjakaḥ | śūdro dharmaphalair iṣṭaiḥ samprayujyeta buddhimān ||
The verse teaches that steadfast good conduct and reverence toward the divine and the learned (dvijas) bring the desired fruits of dharma, regardless of social station; wisdom expressed as disciplined behavior is what connects one to dharmic results.
Śrīmaheśvara is speaking in an instructive context within the Anuśāsana Parva, explaining how ethical conduct (sadācāra) and worshipful respect lead to dharmic merit and its wished-for outcomes, here specifically illustrating this through the example of a wise Śūdra.
