Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ

Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

शुभाशुभान्वितान्‌ भावान्‌ विसृजन्‌ संक्षिपन्नपि । आस्ते देव्या सदाचिन्त्यो य॑ प्रार्थयसि शत्रुहन्‌

śubhāśubhānvitān bhāvān visṛjan saṅkṣipann api | āste devyā sadācintyo yaṃ prārthayasi śatruhan ||

ヴァースデーヴァは言った。「敵を討つ者よ、汝が祈りを捧げるその御方—女神とともに住まう、常に不可思議なる主—はここに留まり、吉祥なる心の働きを絶えず生じさせ、不吉なるものを抑え、あるいは融かし去る。ゆえに光輝と苦行の蔵たるシャンカラは、内なる寂静の源であり、情欲を滅する者である。」
