Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
पशुपतिवचनाद् भवामि सद्य: कृमिरथवा तरुरप्यनेकशाख: । अपशुपतिवरप्रसादजा मे त्रिभुवनराज्यविभूतिरप्यनिष्टा
paśupativacanād bhavāmi sadyaḥ kṛmir athavā tarur apy anekaśākhaḥ | apaśupativarprasādajā me tribhuvanarājyavibhūtir apy aniṣṭā ||
ヴァースデーヴァは言った。「主パシュパティの御言葉ひとつあれば、私はただちに、しかも喜んで、虫にさえ—あるいは枝を幾重にも広げる樹にさえ—なり得る。だが、三界を統べる王権の栄光が、パシュパティ（シヴァ）以外の誰かの恩寵と授けによって私にもたらされるのなら、たとえそれが栄華であっても、私には望ましいものではない。」
