शत्रुसूदन श्रीकृष्ण! माताका वह उपदेश सुनकर तभीसे महादेवजीके प्रति मेरी सुदृढ़ भक्ति हो गयी ।।

Transliteration

tato 'haṃ tapa āsthāya toṣayāmāsa śaṅkaram | ekaṃ varṣasahasraṃ tu vāmāṅguṣṭhāgravicchitaḥ ||

Translation

「その後、苦行に身を委ねてシャンカラ（Śaṅkara）を歓喜させた。まる一千年のあいだ、私は左足の親指の先端だけで支えられて立ち続けた。」
