Tapas-śreṣṭhatā: Anāśana as the Highest Austerity
Bhagīratha–Brahmā Saṃvāda
वाजिनां च सहसेरे द्वे सुवर्णशशतभूषिते
vājināṁ ca sahasrāṇi dve suvarṇaśata-bhūṣite
バギーラタは言った。「さらに二千の馬をも与えた。いずれも百の黄金の飾りを身に帯びていた。」この一句は、王者の施与の規模と真心を示し、富と権勢は正しき布施へと向けられ、ふさわしき受者を敬うために用いられるべきだという理想を照らし出す。
भगीरथ उवाच
