शतक्रतुरुवाच येषां वेदा निहिता वै गुहायां मनीषिणां सत्यवतां महात्मनाम् | तेषां त्वयैकेन महात्मनास्मि वृद्धस्तस्मात् प्रीतिमांस्तेडहमद्य
śatakratur uvāca yeṣāṃ vedā nihitā vai guhāyāṃ manīṣiṇāṃ satyavatāṃ mahātmanām | teṣāṃ tvayā ekena mahātmanā asmi vṛddhas tasmāt prītimāṃs te ’ham adya ||
シャタクラトゥ（インドラ）は言った。「真実を語り、識見ある大いなる魂たち――その心の洞窟にヴェーダがまことに納められている者たち――の中で、あなたこそ最もすぐれた方である。大いなる者よ、ただあなた一人の慈しみ深い配慮によって、私は栄えた。ゆえに今日、私はあなたへの愛情に満ちている。」
