Gautama–Śakra Saṃvāda: Karma, Loka-bheda, and the Restoration of the Elephant
शतक्रतुने कहा--विप्रवर! आपका पुत्रस्वरूप यह हाथी आपहीकी ओर देखता हुआ आ रहा है और पास आकर आपके दोनों चरणोंको अपनी नासिकासे सूँघता है। अब आप मेरा कल्याण-चिंतन कीजिये, आपको नमस्कार है ।।

śivaṃ sadaiveha surendra tubhyaṃ dhyāyāmi pūjāṃ ca sadā prayuñje |
mamāpi tvaṃ śakra śivaṃ dadasva tvayā dattaṃ pratigṛhṇāmi nāgam ||
シャタクラトゥは言った。「尊きヴィプラよ。汝の子たるこの象は、汝を仰ぎ見つつ近づき、やがて両足を鼻先で嗅いでいる。いま、我が安寧を思し召せ。汝に礼を捧げる。」 ガウタマは言った。「スレンドラよ。ここにおいて我は常に汝の安泰を念じ、絶えず汝に供養を捧げてきた。シャクラよ、我にもまた吉祥を授け給え。汝が与えたこの象を、我は受け取る。」
