Householder Duties and Daily Offerings
इस प्रकार बलि समर्पण करके ब्राह्मणको विधिपूर्वक भिक्षा दे। यदि ब्राह्मण न मिले तो अन्नमेंसे थोड़ा-सा अग्रग्रास निकालकर उसका अग्निमें होम कर दे ।।
yadā śrāddhaṃ pitṛbhyo 'pi dātum icchet mānavaḥ | tadā paścāt prakurvīta nivṛtte śrāddhakarmaṇi ||
このようにバリを捧げたのち、バラモンに法にかなって施しを与えよ。もしバラモンが得られぬなら、食物から少しの最初の一口を取り、火に護摩として供えよ。また、人が祖霊ピトリ（Pitṛ）にもシュラーダッダ（śrāddha）を捧げたいと望むなら、それは後に行うべきである——主要のシュラーダッダの作法がすでに正しく終えられたのちに。
