अतिथीन्‌ पूजयामास यथावत्‌ समुपागतान्‌ । एवं हि सुमहान्‌ कालो व्यत्यक्रामत तस्य वै

Transliteration

atithīn pūjayāmāsa yathāvat samupāgatān | evaṁ hi sumahān kālo vyatyakrāmata tasya vai ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「訪れ来る客人を、しかるべき作法に従って丁重にもてなした。かくして彼には、もてなしの道と正しい行いを絶えず修めつつ、きわめて長い時がそのまま過ぎ去ったのである。」
