Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition
धन्विनां नृपशार्दूल यः सर्वस्त्रिविदुत्तम: । महाकीर्तिमिहातेजा: स जज्ञे मनुजेश्वर
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
dhanvināṁ nṛpaśārdūla yaḥ sarvāstravid uttamaḥ |
mahākīrtir ihātejāḥ sa jajñe manujeśvara nṛpaśreṣṭha rājā janamejaya ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「王たちの中の虎よ、人々の主よ、統治者のうち最上なる者—ジャナメージャヤ王よ—弓を執る者の中で最も卓越し、武器の学の全てを知り尽くす者のうち第一の人物が生まれた。その名声は遠く広く行き渡り、彼は大いなる光輝を具えていた。」
