दृष्टवा निवारितान्‌ देवान्‌ माधवेनार्जुनेन च

dṛṣṭvā nivāritān devān mādhavenārjunena ca

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。神々がマーダヴァ(クリシュナ)とアルジュナによって制せられ――進路を阻まれ――たのを見て、事の趨勢はこの二人の力と決意にかかるものとなった。神々の勢力すら、彼らの一致した目的の前に退かざるを得なかったのである。
