रुद्राक्ष वसवश्चैव मरुतशक्ष महाबला:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | rudrākṣa vasavaś caiva marutaś ca mahābalāḥ | kṛṣṇapārtho jighāṃsantaḥ pratīyur vividhāyudhāḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ルドラたち、ヴァスたち、そして大力のマルットたちは、さまざまな武器を携え、クリシュナとアルジュナを殺さんとして彼らに迫った。この場面は、いかに高き天界の力であっても、敵意と派閥の目的に呑み込まれれば、その力を暴力へと向けうることを示し、正しき決意の体現者に対して武力が結集されるという、重い道義的対立の幕を開く。
