Transliteration

na tu kevaladaivena prajā bhāvena remire | yad babhūva manaḥkāntaṃ karmaṇā sa cakāra tat |

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。民が喜んだのは、ただ運命や幸運ゆえではない。心そのものが満ち足りていたのだ。人々の思いにかなうものを、王はその行いによって現実に成就させた。ゆえに彼らの満足は、王としての保護にとどまらず、王への篤い信頼と帰依からも生まれていた。
