कल्माषपाद-शाप-कारणम्

Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse

(स्तुतो5स्मि वरदस्ते5हं वरं वरय सुव्रत । स्तुतिस्त्वयोक्ता भक्तानां जप्येयं वरदो<5स्म्यहम्‌ ।।

stuto 'smi varadas te 'haṃ varaṃ varaya suvrata | stutis tvayoktā bhaktānāṃ japyeyam varado 'smy aham ||

「汝は我を讃えた。ゆえに我は汝に恩寵を授けよう。善き誓戒を守る聖仙よ、望むままに願いを選べ。汝が唱えた讃歌は、信徒が常に誦すべきものにふさわしい。我はまことに授願者である。」 こう告げられると、大苦行のヴァシシュタは、輝けるヴィヴァスヴァーンに伏して礼拝し、答えんとした。
