वैशम्पायन उवाच पूर्वमेव तु सम्मन्त्रय पार्थो द्रोणमथाब्रवीत्‌ | दर्पोद्रेकात्‌ कुमाराणामाचार्य द्विजसत्तमम्‌

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca pūrvam eva tu sammantrya pārtho droṇam athābravīt | darpodrekāt kumārāṇām ācārya dvijasattamam ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「あらかじめよく評議を尽くしたのち、パールタ（アルジュナ）はドローナ—師にして、二度生まれし者のうち最勝—に語りかけた。王子たちは己が力と武勇を誇って驕り高ぶり、その傲慢が度を越していた。ゆえにアルジュナは、ただの虚勢ではなく熟慮によって事を導かんとして、この婆羅門の師に言葉を向けたのである。」
