स तु कामपरीतात्मा तं शापं नान्वबुध्यत । माद्रीं मैथुनधर्मेण सो5न्वगच्छद् बलादिव
sa tu kāmaparītātmā taṃ śāpaṃ nānvabudhyata | mādrīṃ maithunadharmeṇa so 'nvagacchad balād iva ||
だが欲望に呑まれた彼の心は、その呪いを顧みなかった。まるで何者かに押し立てられるように、彼はマードリーに近づき、交合の意をもって迫った――呪いから生じる恐れを捨て、運命と欲望の圧に駆られて、自らの破滅へと進んだのである。
