वैशम्पायन उवाच नच्छुत्वा तापसवच: पाण्ड्श्विन्तापरो3भवत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तपस्वी मुनियोंका यह वचन सुनकर राजा पाण्डु बड़े सोच-विचारमें पड़ गये
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | na śrutvā tāpasavacaḥ pāṇḍuḥ cintāparo 'bhavat |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「おお、ジャナメージャヤよ。苦行の仙人たちの言葉を聞くや、パーンドゥ王は不安な思索に沈み—何度も心中でその事を反芻し、いかなる道が正しいのかを重く案じたのである。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic ideal of kingship: a ruler should not act impulsively but should seriously reflect after receiving counsel from sages, weighing consequences and the right course of action.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration to King Janamejaya, Pāṇḍu hears the ascetics’ statement and is shown entering a state of deep concern and deliberation, indicating a turning point where he must decide how to respond.
