Pāṇḍu’s Marriages, Conquests, and Triumphal Return
prādurbabhūvāviditaḥ kṣaṇena kurunandana | tasmai pūjāṃ tataḥ kṛtvā sutāya vidhipūrvakam ||
The verse underscores dharma expressed as proper reverence and ritual correctness: when an extraordinary guest or presence appears, one should respond with due honor (pūjā) and carry out prescribed duties (vidhi) carefully, especially regarding family and lineage rites.
A figure suddenly appears without being noticed at first. In response, the people present honor him with worship and then proceed to perform the appropriate, rule-based rites connected with the son/offspring.
