yogācāraḥ svayaṃ tena brahmaṇā kathitaḥ purā evaṃ pāśupataṃ jñānaṃ jñātavyaṃ ca prayatnataḥ
このヨーガの行法は、古えにブラフマー自らが説いた。これと同様に、パーシュパタ(Pāśupata)の道の智は、熱心に、たゆまぬ努力をもって知るべきである。
Suta Goswami (narrating the tradition of instruction within the Linga Purana)
It links outer devotion to Śiva (Paśupati) with inner discipline: true Linga-oriented worship is supported by yogic conduct and the earnest pursuit of Pāśupata knowledge.
By emphasizing “Pāśupata jñāna,” it implies Śiva as Pati (Lord) whose liberating knowledge removes pāśa (bondage) from the paśu (individual soul) through right practice and understanding.
It highlights yogācāra—regulated yogic conduct—and the disciplined study/realization of Pāśupata jñāna, pursued with consistent effort (prayatnataḥ).
