Adhyaya 84: शिवव्रतकथनम्
Uma–Maheshvara Vrata, Shula-dana, and Month-wise Ekabhakta Vrata
सा च देव्या महाभागा मोदते नात्र संशयः फाल्गुने प्रतिमां कृत्वा हिरण्येन यथाविधि
sā ca devyā mahābhāgā modate nātra saṃśayaḥ phālgune pratimāṃ kṛtvā hiraṇyena yathāvidhi
その大いなる福徳を具えた女神は疑いなく歓喜する。ファールグナ月に、定められた作法のとおり黄金でその御像を造り、儀礼を正確に修するならば。
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It underscores that Śaiva dharma is fulfilled through Śiva–Śakti harmony: pleasing Devī by rule-based worship (yathāvidhi) supports the devotee’s approach to Pati (Śiva) and sanctifies Linga-centered observance through proper ritual discipline.
By emphasizing Devī’s delight, the verse points to the inseparability of Śiva and Śakti: Shiva-tattva is not approached as a mere abstraction but as Pati whose grace flows through Śakti, the manifest power that responds to correct vidhi.
A prescribed pūjā/vrata practice: in Phālguna, make a golden pratimā of Devī and perform the rite exactly as enjoined—highlighting vidhi (orthopraxy) as a means to loosen pāśa (bondage) for the paśu (soul) through divine favor.
