देवासुरगुरुर् देवो देवासुरनमस्कृतः देवासुरमहामात्रो देवासुरगणाश्रयः

彼は神であり、デーヴァとアスラ双方のグル(Guru)である。デーヴァもアスラも等しく礼拝し、頭を垂れる。彼は両者を統べる至上の権能、まさに大臣の力であり、あらゆる群衆の依処である。
