It frames cosmic order as a divinely sustained mandala: for a Shaiva devotee, such cosmic supports ultimately rest in Pati (Shiva), so Linga worship aligns the pashu (soul) with the same sustaining principle behind Surya, Soma, and the grahas.
Though Surya is named, the Purva-bhaga’s cosmology implies a higher governor: Shiva as Pati is the transcendent ground through which luminous order and time-cycles function, with Surya serving as a manifest support within creation.
It supports solar-oriented discipline—japa, dhyāna, and time-keeping for vrata and puja—where the sādhaka harmonizes inner prāṇa and awareness with the cosmic solar rhythm, a practical aid within Shaiva sādhanā.
