daśavarṣasahasrāṇi sthitiḥ kiṃpuruṣe nṛṇām suvarṇavarṇāś ca narāḥ striyaścāpsarasopamāḥ
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It contrasts refined enjoyments and long life in exalted realms with the higher Shaiva aim: turning the pashu away from bhoga and toward Pati (Shiva) through Linga-centered devotion and discipline.
Indirectly: it highlights that even extraordinary lifespans and beauty remain within the created order (pāśa-bound experience), implying Shiva-tattva as the transcendent Pati beyond all lokas and their pleasures.
No specific rite is prescribed in this verse; the takeaway is vairāgya within Pāśupata orientation—using knowledge of worldly and celestial enjoyments to cultivate dispassion and pursue Shiva through Linga-pūjā and yogic restraint.
