Brahmā’s Prayers to Lord Nārāyaṇa and the Lord’s Empowering Instructions for Creation
भूयस्त्वं तप आतिष्ठ विद्यां चैव मदाश्रयाम् । ताभ्यामन्तर्हृदि ब्रह्मन् लोकान्द्रक्ष्यस्यपावृतान् ॥ ३० ॥
bhūyas tvaṁ tapa ātiṣṭha vidyāṁ caiva mad-āśrayām tābhyām antar-hṛdi brahman lokān drakṣyasy apāvṛtān
おおブラフマーよ、再び苦行と瞑想に身を据え、我に依りて成る智の道を歩め。これら二つによって、汝は己が心奥において、あらゆる世界を覆いなく見るであろう。
The mercy the Lord bestows upon a particular person engaged in executing the responsible work entrusted unto him is beyond imagination. But His mercy is received due to our penance and perseverance in executing devotional service. Brahmā was entrusted with the work of creating the planetary systems. The Lord instructed him that when he meditated he would very easily know where and how the planetary systems must be arranged. The directions were to come from within, and there was no necessity for anxiety in that task. Such instructions of buddhi-yoga are directly imparted by the Lord from within, as confirmed in Bhagavad-gītā (10.10) .
This verse teaches that disciplined austerity (tapas) combined with God-centered knowledge (vidyā that takes shelter of the Lord) unveils inner realization—so that truth becomes directly perceived within the heart.
In the creation narrative, Brahmā seeks clarity and empowerment for creation; the Lord instructs him that renewed tapas and devotionally anchored knowledge are the means to receive revelation and properly manifest the worlds.
Adopt steady self-discipline (simplicity, regulated habits, focused sādhana) and study spiritual teachings with devotion to the Lord; together they refine the mind and make higher understanding ‘uncovered’ in daily decision-making.
