Portents at the Birth of Diti’s Sons and Hiraṇyākṣa Challenges Varuṇa
tvaṁ loka-pālo ’dhipatir bṛhac-chravā vīryāpaho durmada-vīra-māninām vijitya loke ’khila-daitya-dānavān yad rājasūyena purāyajat prabho
This verse praises Viṣṇu as the universal guardian and supreme ruler who curbs the power of arrogant, demonic forces and maintains cosmic order.
They represent disruptive, anti-dharmic powers; the verse glorifies the Lord as the conqueror of all such forces, restoring balance in the universe.
It reminds a seeker that pride is defeated by surrender to the Supreme; cultivating humility and devotion protects one from the downfall caused by arrogance.
