The Lord’s Apology to the Kumāras and the Fall of Jaya and Vijaya
ṛṣaya ūcuḥ na vayaṁ bhagavan vidmas tava deva cikīrṣitam kṛto me ’nugrahaś ceti yad adhyakṣaḥ prabhāṣase
The sages could understand that the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is above everyone, was speaking as if He were in the wrong; therefore it was difficult for them to understand the words of the Lord. They could understand, however, that the Lord was speaking in such a humble way just to show them His all-merciful favor.
It shows that even exalted sages may not grasp the Lord’s hidden intention, yet they acknowledge His supreme control and accept that His dealings are ultimately merciful.
In the Vaikuṇṭha episode, the sages witness unexpected events and the Lord’s response; they admit their limited understanding of His deeper purpose behind the unfolding pastime.
When outcomes are unclear, cultivate humility and faith—accept that the Supreme Controller may be guiding events for a higher good, and respond with devotion rather than resentment.
