Varāha-avatāra: The Boar Incarnation Lifts the Earth and Slays Hiraṇyākṣa

大地を持ち上げる主よ。あなたが牙の先端で山々を伴う大地を支えると、それは水から今まさに上がった怒れる象王の牙に、葉を備えた蓮華が載るように、見事に輝いている。
The fortune of the earth planet is praised because of its being specifically sustained by the Lord; its beauty is appreciated and compared to that of a lotus flower situated on the trunk of an elephant. As a lotus flower with leaves is very beautifully situated, so the world, with its many beautiful mountains, appeared on the tusks of the Lord Boar.
This verse describes the earth, with all her mountains, shining beautifully as Lord Varaha holds her aloft on the tip of His tusk—an image of divine rescue and protection.
Because Lord Varaha had appeared to retrieve the submerged earth and restore cosmic order; the sages glorify His power and compassion through vivid, devotional imagery.
When life feels “submerged” by fear or chaos, this līlā teaches trust in divine protection and the duty to uphold dharma—acting responsibly while remembering the Lord as the ultimate rescuer.
