Dynasty of Kṣatravṛddha: Kāśi Kings, Dhanvantari, Rajī’s Sons, and the Transition to Nahuṣa
देवैरभ्यर्थितो दैत्यान् हत्वेन्द्रायाददाद् दिवम् । इन्द्रस्तस्मै पुनर्दत्त्वा गृहीत्वा चरणौ रजे: । आत्मानमर्पयामास प्रह्रादाद्यरिशङ्कित: ॥ १३ ॥
devair abhyarthito daityān hatvendrāyādadād divam indras tasmai punar dattvā gṛhītvā caraṇau rajeḥ ātmānam arpayām āsa prahrādādy-ari-śaṅkitaḥ
神々の願いにより、ラジーはダイティヤ族を討ってインドラに天界の王国を返した。だがプラフラーダらの敵を恐れたインドラは、ラジーの蓮華の御足にすがり、天界を再び彼に譲り渡し、己れをもその御足に捧げて帰依した。
This verse says that, when requested by the devas, King Raji defeated the Daityas and handed the celestial kingdom back to Indra.
Indra feared retaliation from powerful enemies like Prahlāda and therefore returned sovereignty to Raji and took shelter at Raji’s feet.
The verse highlights that even the powerful may seek protection; recognizing limits, acting responsibly, and taking shelter in rightful authority are practical expressions of humility.
