Continuation and Future of the Sūrya-vaṁśa: From Kuśa to the Last Ikṣvāku King
puṣpo hiraṇyanābhasya dhruvasandhis tato ’bhavat sudarśano ’thāgnivarṇaḥ śīghras tasya maruḥ sutaḥ
This verse states that Dhruvasandhi had four sons: Sudarśana, Agnivarṇa, Śīghra, and Maru.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates these dynastic successions to Mahārāja Parīkṣit as part of the royal genealogies in Canto 9.
They place the Lord’s pastimes and dharmic kings in historical context, helping devotees remember how devotion and righteous rule were preserved through saintly lineages.
