एकदा जग्मतुस्तासामन्नार्थं तौ कुटुम्बिनौ । परित: कानने तस्मिन्नर्थिनौ चेरतुश्चिरम् ॥ ६२ ॥
ekadā jagmatus tāsām annārthaṁ tau kuṭumbinau paritaḥ kānane tasminn arthinau ceratuś ciram
ある日、その家族の主である二羽は雛のための餌を求めて出かけ、よく食べさせたい一心で、その森をあちこち長くさまよった。
This verse depicts two householders compelled to wander in a forest simply to obtain food, highlighting how material maintenance can force one into hardship and anxiety.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this within the Avadhūta’s teaching to illustrate how worldly necessity can bind a person, encouraging detachment and spiritual discernment.
Recognize how constant chasing of necessities and comforts can consume time and peace; simplify needs, practice gratitude, and prioritize sādhana so life is not spent only “searching for food.”
