पुराणसङ्ख्यासम्भूतिमस्य वाच्यप्रयोजने । दानं दानस्य माहात्म्यं पाठादेश्च निबोधत ॥ ३ ॥

Transliteration

purāṇa-saṅkhyā-sambhūtim asya vācya-prayojane dānaṁ dānasya māhātmyaṁ pāṭhādeś ca nibodhata

Translation

いま、各プラーナの詩節数の要約を聞きなさい。続いて、このバーガヴァタ・プラーナの主要主題と目的、これを布施として贈る正しい方法、その布施の功徳、そして最後にこの聖典を聴聞し誦読・唱和する功徳を知りなさい。
