Arjuna Marries Subhadrā; Kṛṣṇa Honors Two Devotees in Mithilā (Śrutadeva and Bahulāśva)
भगवांस्तदभिप्रेत्य द्वयो: प्रियचिकीर्षया । उभयोराविशद् गेहमुभाभ्यां तदलक्षित: ॥ २६ ॥
bhagavāṁs tad abhipretya dvayoḥ priya-cikīrṣayā ubhayor āviśad geham ubhābhyāṁ tad-alakṣitaḥ
二人をともに喜ばせようと、主は両方の招きをお受けになった。かくして主は同時に二つの家へ入られ、誰も主が相手の家へ入るのを見なかった。
According to Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī, Kṛṣṇa visited Śrutadeva and Bahulāśva at the same time by manifesting Himself in duplicate forms, along with the sages. Thus King Bahulāśva thought that Lord Kṛṣṇa had come only to his house, leaving Śrutadeva to return home disappointed, while Śrutadeva believed that just the reverse was the case.
This verse shows Krishna perceives the inner intention of those involved and acts specifically to please and uplift them.
He arranged His entrance in a way that served His purpose—fulfilling the situation’s deeper intention and delighting both parties—without creating immediate disturbance.
Cultivate sincere intention and trust that the Lord knows the heart; focus on pleasing God and serving others rather than seeking recognition.
