Rājasūya: Agrapūjā for Kṛṣṇa and the Slaying (and Liberation) of Śiśupāla
śrutvā dvijeritaṁ rājā jñātvā hārdaṁ sabhā-sadām samarhayad dhṛṣīkeśaṁ prītaḥ praṇaya-vihvalaḥ
Because he heard the brāhmaṇa’s guidance and recognized the assembly’s heartfelt desire that Kṛṣṇa be given the foremost honor, so he worshiped Hṛṣīkeśa with loving joy.
Hṛṣīkeśa means “master of the senses.” The verse uses this name to emphasize Kṛṣṇa’s supreme position as the Lord worthy of the highest honor in the sabhā.
Listen to saintly guidance, understand the sincere devotional mood of devotees, and honor the Lord (and His devotees) not mechanically but with genuine affection and gratitude.
