Balarāma Slays the Ape Dvivida
Dvivida-vadha
tasya dhārṣṭyaṁ kaper vīkṣya taruṇyo jāti-cāpalāḥ hāsya-priyā vijahasur baladeva-parigrahāḥ
It indicates that the young women were under the shelter, protection, or guardianship of Lord Baladeva (Balarāma).
Because they saw the monkey’s audacity and, being youthful and fond of humor, they spontaneously burst into laughter.
Even when protected, one should remain mindful and respectful; the verse highlights how easy it is for the mind to slip into careless amusement when provoked.
