Kṛṣṇa Defeats Bāṇāsura and Receives Śiva’s Prayers
The Śoṇitapura Battle and the Jvara Episode
viśīryamāṇam sva-balaṁ dṛṣṭvā bāṇo ’ty-amarṣitaḥ kṛṣṇam abhyadravat saṅkhye rathī hitvaiva sātyakim
This verse describes Bāṇāsura becoming furious as his forces collapse, and then charging directly at Śrī Kṛṣṇa, leaving Sātyaki to focus on Kṛṣṇa as the main opponent.
Because Bāṇa saw his own side being destroyed and, overwhelmed by anger, shifted his attention from Sātyaki to confront Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the source of his defeat.
When ego is threatened, anger can push one into reckless choices; the Bhagavatam contrasts such impulsive rage with the steadiness that comes from devotion, humility, and clear discernment.
