Kṛṣṇa Arrives at Kuṇḍina and Abducts Rukmiṇī
Rukmiṇī-haraṇa Prelude
tam āgataṁ samājñāya vaidarbhī hṛṣṭa-mānasā na paśyantī brāhmaṇāya priyam anyan nanāma sā
This verse shows Rukmiṇī’s reverence: when she had nothing dearer to offer, she honored the brāhmaṇa by bowing, indicating that respect and humility are themselves sacred offerings.
Overjoyed at the news of Kṛṣṇa’s arrival, she could not find any offering she considered more precious than her own respectful obeisance, so she bowed as the highest expression of gratitude and devotion.
When elaborate offerings are not possible, one can still practice bhakti through sincere respect—greeting devotees and teachers humbly, offering gratitude, and serving with a pure heart.
