Uddhava Meets the Gopīs: Bhramara-gītā and Kṛṣṇa’s Message of Separation
śrī-śuka uvāca atha gopīr anujñāpya yaśodāṁ nandam eva ca gopān āmantrya dāśārho yāsyann āruruhe ratham
After completing his visit and taking leave of the gopīs, Yaśodā, Nanda, and the cowherd men, Uddhava prepares to depart and mounts his chariot.
As a respected guest and messenger connected to Kṛṣṇa, he honors Vraja’s elders and hosts by formally taking leave, reflecting Vedic etiquette and affectionate relationships in Kṛṣṇa-līlā.
Even spiritual missions should be carried out with humility, gratitude, and proper respect—taking leave properly and honoring those who have served and sheltered us.
